Backpacking Africa from Cairo to Cape Town - Recap !

We're Lisa & Pol and we decided in summer 2023 to go travel, starting with the African continent.
We're travelling low-cost, hitchhiking, couchsurfing, volunteering and usually choosing the most affordable options, although from time to time we'll treat ourselves to a nice activity, hotel or experience. We don't know yet how long we will be travelling, but we will probably head home for a while after reaching South Africa.

The last part of our video series about Egypt !
After spending 2 days in Giza, convenient for the pyramids, at a great couchsurfing place, we relax in Alexandria for a couple of days. We come back to Cairo and explore the Egyptian Museum and some pretty cool places.

We continue our journey inland and reach the Nile Valley and the first temples of Upper Egypt. As soon as we hopped off the bus in Luxor, we become the target of the many taxi drivers and sellers, competing for our attention. So different than the atmosphere along the Red Sea ! 
We get a great accomodation on Elephantine Island overlooking the sand dunes and even make it to Abu Simbel. 4 packed days !

Backpacking Africa from Cairo to Cape Town #2

Egypt is the second country that we visited during our world tour and we decided to divide our 23 days trip in the country into 2 parts. Part one follows our adventures around the Red Sea. It starts in Sinai, where we discover Nuweiba, Dahab & Sham El Sheikh and continues in Hurghada and Port Ghalib. Part 2 and 3 are now out !
